ALL AMERICAN MOWER CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY

The All American was the brainchild of the BTMRA and staff. The idea was to have a race late into the racing season so as to not interfere with anyone’s racing season and point’s races.  The idea was to bring racers from across the USA and Canada and even over seas if they wanted to come together, to be able to get together in one place and race together. Regardless of the racers affiliation, and build rules we try to provide a class for everyone. We want everyone to meet each other and have a great time, race together, regardless of affiliation and their build rules. To prove we can all race together, with no politics and everyone have such a great time that they want to come back year after year.

It all started 3 years ago. It started out to be mainly the Tn racers and some coming from other states with app. 50+ mowers. It wasn’t called the ALL American the first year. And understand that this event is promoted more by the racers themselves, by word of mouth and over the Internet.

The second year we named it the ALL American Mower Championships and had over 80 mowers from as far away as Upper Wisconsin, there were racers from all across the USA in attendance. National and Regional and local Champions were everywhere. The event was starting to grow and become one of if not the premier event of the year to attend.

The third year , which was really the second year billed as the ALL American, it had 124 mowers present from all across the USA and Canada. We had a TV Crew from Canada filming on sight for their show TV Made me do it. They featured George Herrin a 8 time National Champion and one of the founders of this event, Ryan Kerr a Canadian multi National Champion kind of pitting them as rivals. It was great for the sport of Mower racing and the All American.

The 4th year 2009 (the Third Annual All American) get this, We had 155 mowers present. Thats a significant increase every year and mkaes it the biggest Mower race is the US. This event has battled rain heat snow mud and dust ALL in the same weekend. Nothing seems to stand in the way of racers from across the USA coming together and having an awesome time together.

The main core of classes are based on the ARMA sanctioned classes and rules. These classes allow the racers from the USLMRA to attend and fit right in as their rules are very similar. We have an outlaw single and twin class that gives those that do not fit sanction class rules a place to race. ARMA also added a couple new classes in 09 that were born from this event and the Outlaw classes. They are the Super Modified single and twin classes. This event has truly been great for the sport of mower racing in general. It has become one of the most desirable to attend events in the USA. When a racer wins at this event he has truly raced with the best across the USA and Canada with racers from different organizations and rules. When he wins he is truly an ALL American Mower Champion.

We do not race for money, we race for the bragging rights, and the Trophy, and the pure adrenaline rush. This event in its third year as the ALL AMERICAN MOWER CHAMPIONSHIPS is simply a must attend event not only as a racer but as a spectator. We hope you enjoy what we have done here and hope you enjoy the show.

2010 was a great race, smaller turnout yet a blessing in disguise. The event was a great one though. A large turnout of the Canadian group Western Ontario Outlaws. Racing in all classes was the best yet. We did however loose a great friend at this event not a racing accident just was his time. Sam Rogers passed doing what he loved and that was racing. We thank ARMA for a wonderful ride and this event would not have ever started if it were not for the approval of ARMA staff. Thank you.

2011 is bringing the ALL American to a new race site Stevenson Ala. it is also teaming with a new Sanctioning body, the USLMRA. In rememberance of our dear friend Sam Rogers it will from here on out be the SAM ROGERS US ALL AMERICAN OPEN. Stay tuned.

2012 wow what race. 156 mowers in attendance. Racers from across the USA and Canada in attendance. USLMRA staff on hand to help things flow smoothly. Another banner year for the AAMC. Ryan Kerr setting fastest time  and new track record 11.908. Hard close racing in every class. T4 films on hand doing some filming check out their web site. ted Jones and the City of Stevenson again stepping up to the plate and making the venue one of the best in the country!!! Its simply an awesome event. Looking forward to 2013.

2013 brought big changes to the AAMC. BTMRA is now finally a fully independant Mower Association. American Kart Track Promoters Assoc. is on board providing inssurance making this all possible. After 7 years our dream of making this finally an independant truly OPEN event regardless of your affiliation has come true. 75 mowers from across the USA converged on Stevenson Ala. to prove who is the best of the best regardless from where ya from. National, regional and local club champions from every santioning body came together to battle it out. Stevenson Ala freshened up the racing surface with new clay and provided the smooothest racing surface to date. BTMRA Staff work with the Stevenson city crew worked tirelessly all weekend for the smoothest run AAMC to date. Mike Colloins came in this year setting the table high while setting a new track record of 11.646. New Champions were crowned and new friends made. Till next year the memories will stay vivid in our minds. see ya then.

2014 another year for the record books. 107 mowers racers from over 16 states and Canada and AUstrailia in attendance. Thats right I said Austrailia. These guys came in got on super modified twins they never sit on before, and qualified for the main event on Sunday. it simply doesnt get any better than this. Saturday night we cooked up some dogs, burgers n chili for the racers and everyone had a wonderful time just socializing after the days events. Sunday the races started and not a single driver was taken from the field in an Ambulance. We had several crashes but everyone walked away. The crew on a yearly basis making changes to ensure things run as smooth as possible. The chages worked great. We strive to continue to make this event one to remember. No new track records but the racers stated multiple times this was the smoothest the track has ever been at this event. Credit to the efforts of the City of Stevenson Alabama for everything they do to make this such a stand out event. Ted Jones and his crew keep this event and all the mower events at Stevenson over the years a wonderful event. Thanks to all of Stevenson Alabama for such a wonderful venue.
